Increasing safety and flexibility. Reducing costs and downtime. All this and UL 508 compliance with the MD50 Motor Disconnect Switch.

As an industry leader in safety switches for over 100 years, Schneider Electric proudly introduces our latest addition - the Square D Brand MD50 Motor Disconnect for UL 508 approved applications.

Designed to keep your machines and processes moving while providing safe working conditions, the MD50 Motor Disconnect provides you with the ability to cut power to a motor while not affecting the main circuit, keeping production in-progress while preventing injury or a motor from burning out. It’s a pin and sleeve interlocked switch receptacle listed UL 508 “Suitable As Motor Disconnect” in one compact type 4X enclosure. And, it’s offered in 20A, 30A, 60A and 100A units compatible with IEC 60309-2 plug configurations.

The MD50 UL 508 switch with a receptacle interlock allows you to move motor- driven equipment and motors in and out of a given space when necessary. Plus, a key safety feature is that the interlock switch design requires an operator to turn off the load before removing the machine plug from the receptacle.

Other key features of the MD50 UL508 include…

• Pad lockable handle directly interfaces switch mechanism
• Load rated switch and receptacle in one package
• Type 4X enclosure system
• Ground hub and double grounding provision provided
• Solid brass “hidden hinge system” provides a clean solution in type 4X    environments
• Provides up to 100kAIC short circuit protection at load source
• Compatible with any manufacturer’s IEC 60309-compliant product
