Innovation springs up from out of thin air.
Problems have a way of inspiring people to find unique and innovative solutions. Consider for example the effects of pollution, oil prices and labor costs on the automotive industry. Each is driving up the price of traditional vehicles while new global players are grabbing market share with unique solutions to these same problems.

In the last two years Tata Motors has done the unimaginable by introducing a low priced vehicle that you assemble yourself and more recently a car powered entirely by compressed air. The Air Car is powered by the energy stored in a tank of compressed air and can travel about 120-180 miles between fill ups at top speeds of 60 mph. Until infrastructure is developed, the vehicle carries a small compressor which can refill the tank in 3-4 hours when plugged into 220V or 380V current.

In their own way, Tata Motors has provided one solution to the pollution, oil and labor problems we face and done it in a way that is potentially viable for the growing Asian markets. What the next great invention will be is still to be determined, but history tells us that it can come from anywhere at anytime. You may in fact be tinkering with that idea right now and need only the support to make it a reality.

Schneider Electric has both the resources and relationships to help make your innovative power, control and automation solutions come to life. Visit Schneider Electric's Automotive website to see how we can help turn your ideas into reality.
