Economic Recovery Package Extends Incentives for Material Handling & Logistics Equipment Investment
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides two important tax incentives for business investment through the end of 2009. The first is a one-year 50% bonus depreciation, which allows you to write off an extra 50% of the cost of your new equipment bought and used in 2009.
The second is a 5-year Net Operating Loss carry back provision for small businesses. This provides an extra year boost in how much you can deduct on capital expenditures like equipment that normally would depreciate over time.
