Plan, Prepare, Predict — eliminating disruptions to your supply chain
Avoiding the unavoidable is the challenge. Supply chains are at risk from the bad weather, labor disputes, shortages, defective materials, transportation issues and countless other factors. Minimizing this risk is paramount and visibility solutions are helping supply chain departments be pro-active and develop plans to avoid disruptions.

Visibility within our supply chain can give us a competitive advantage according to an article on MHIA.org entitled Visibility within the Supply Chain. “If we can plan for an impending situation we could potentially take sales away from our opponents. A company should look for opportunities to reduce complexities, redundancies and waste.”

Schneider Electric can help you identify new ways to cut cost, improve your efficiency and minimize your risk. Our automation experts can perform a complete analysis of your systems and processes to help you prepare for and avoid problems that may interrupt your supply chains performance.

Product Focus: Osicap Capacitive Sensors
Schneider Electric’s Osicap Capacitive Sensors are a rugged, easy to operate capacitive sensor line that is ideal for sensing non-metal objects, level control of fluids and granular material.

In addition, the capacitive proximity sensors offer nickel-plated housing with ratings of IP65 and 67 which make them ideal for harsh environments. They and are programmable in Normally Open or Normally Closed functionality with NPN / PNP outputs and do not require physical contact between the object and sensor. Depending on the dielectric constant (εr) level, adjustments can be made to “zero out” the presence of an object allowing the sensor to sense “through” a bulk material or liquid level.

The Osicap Capacitive Sensors feature a LED status indicator and the threshold level is adjustable via a 20-turn potentiometer at the rear of the sensor.
