Harmonic Mitigating Transformers
Provide cleaner, stabler power for sensitive electronic equipment

Harmonic Mitigating Transformers use phase shifting, electromagnetic flux, and source impedance to help reduce harmonics in electrical distribution systems. Products are designed using standard NEMA configurations and comply with applicable Low Voltage Transformer standards.

  • NEMA ST-20
  • NEMA TP 1-1996
  • UL 1561

Harmonic mitigation is a hot topic among North American manufacturers and industry users. Europe has already established guidelines to control the maximum level of harmonics that equipment can introduce onto a system. Computer and business equipment manufacturers, in response to European guidelines, created power supplies that do not burden an electrical system with harmonic interference. It is likely that North America will soon adopt limited harmonic path regulations.

Square D® is now including the HMT in our standard product line to help our customers meet their need for harmonic reduction in a number of standard applications.
