Style Disconnect Switches
GS1
Fusible/LK3 Non-fusible disconnects
Telemecanique/Square D IEC-style disconnect switches
utilize the latest technology to provide a compact yet rugged line of
fusible or nonfusible disconnect switches. All switches have been tested
and meet the stringent requirements of UL 98, including "Service Entrance"
equipment. This global product is also CSA certified, CE marked and meets
the requirements of IEC 947-1-3 and IEC 269. Available in ratings from
30-800 ampere (fusible) and 30-1200 ampere (non-fused), these switches
are designed to reduce panel space up to 25% without sacrificing performance
or personnel safety.
Features
and Benefits
Panel
Space Savings
This proven switch technology has the fuses incorporated on the top of
the switch mechanism to reduce the footprint of the product and save valuable
panel space. The non-fused switch is designed to cover ratings from 30-1200
amperes in just 5 frame sizes.
Personnel
Safety
Double break contacts through 400 amperes - The newest technology has
designed a mechanism that disconnects both sides of the fusing using two
double break contacts per pole. This insures complete isolation of the
fuse in the "Off " position.
Touch safe design
All switches are designed to reduce the danger of accidental contact with
live, energized parts. All fusible switches are supplied with fuse covers
as standard. Fuses can be tested without removing the fuse covers. All
switches are supplied with line side terminal shrouds. Optional load side
terminal shrouds are available.
Clear position indication
All devices have clear indication of the "On" and "Off" ("I" & "O") positions
both on the handle and on the switch.
Padlocking
All device handles can be padlocked in the "Off" position with up to three
padlocks, meeting OSHA requirements for lockout/tagout procedures. On
fusible devices through 400 amperes and non-fusible switches through 200
amperes, there are provisions for padlocking directly on the switch.
Door interlock defeater
Handles may be padlocked in the "Off" position. This interlocking can
be defeated by authorized personnel.
Positive indication
If the contacts have welded for any reason, the operating handles
cannot be moved from the "On" to the "Off" position, avoiding a false
indication of contact opening.
Exceptional
Short Circuit Protection
The GS1 series, when used with type CC or J fuses, provide a short circuit
withstand from 50 to 200 Ka.
Test
Position
An optional test position feature allows the testing of auxiliary contacts
used in the control circuit. With this feature, the power circuit does
not have to be energized to confirm control circuit functions.
Complete
Range of Handles
The GS1 and LK3 devices use common through the door handles. Handles have
both IP ratings as well as Type 1, 12 and 4/4X (indoor) ratings (as defined
by UL 508). All handles are available in black or red/yellow. Optional
handles are available to indicate the optional "test" position.
