Panel AC Drives:
Altivar® 58 Type N

For control of three-phase asynchronous motors, the Altivar 58 (ATV58) Type N AC drive contains an ATV58 TRX which is packaged in a Type 4/4X stainless steel enclosure. These drives are intended for use in food and beverage washdown applications and other locations requiring the highest degree of enclosure protection. Freeing up critical panel space, this package can be mounted on the outside of most panels containing PLCs and other automation equipment.

Enclosure specifications

The heatsink on the Type N drive is tested for corrosion resistance per UL-50 and exceeds this standard. The UL-50 corrosion test was conducted using ASTM B117-1985.

Available Ratings

• 1 - 10 HP (0.75 to 7.5kW), 400/460 VAC, three-phase input
• 0.5 - 3 HP (0.37 to 2.2kW), 208/230 VAC, single-phase input
• 0.5 - 5 HP (0.37 to 4.0kW), 208/230 VAC, three-phase input

Each ATV58 Type N drive is furnished with four conduit openings that are closed with Type 4/4X plugs. ATV58 Type N drives include a keypad display mounted behind a transparent panel to allow viewing and operation of the keypad while maintaining the Type 4/4X rating. If desired, the keypad can be removed and a factory-installed closing plate can be used to maintain the Type 4/4X rating.

ATV58 Type N AC drives can be used on constant and variable torque applications.

Altivar 58 drives are available with Powersuite™ products for easy testing and commissioning. Also, all ATV58 Type H communication and I/O options can be used in ATV58 Type N AC drives. For more information about Altivar 58 AC drive options, click here.
