Class 8839 58M Enclosed Drive Controllers

Class 8839 58M enclosed drive controllers provide packaged adjustable speed drive solutions that incorporate the Altivar 58 TRX drive enclosed in Type 1 or Type 12 wall or floor mounted enclosures. The CL8839 58M enclosed drives may be selected for constant or variable torque type loads and are designed to offer "built-to-order" capabilities for the user to match consulting engineer specifications and user requirements, including use for industrial, municipal and high-end commercial applications.

Two enclosure configurations provide a foundation for flexibility and customization:

• Integrated enclosures can be wall or floor mount depending on size and provide a circuit breaker disconnect and enough room for power peripherals such as bypass and isolation contactors, all in the same enclosure.
• Barriered enclosures provide a compartmentalized motor control solution by separating power and control circuits such as bypass from drive control into separate compartments. This configuration provides maximum user flexibility if servicing a drive while remaining on bypass.

• Circuit breaker protection provides short circuit protection without current-limiting line fuses.
• UL 508C listed to exceed minimum AIC requirements and enhance personnel safety under short circuit conditions for both drive and bypass.
• Fully-rated motor isolation and bypass contactors with mechanical and electrical interlock prevent accidental voltage backfeeding.
• Soft start effect reduces mechanical stress and routine maintenance.
• Enclosed line reactor option provides transient protection from surge and overvoltage, and minimizes line harmonic currents.

Reduced installation cost and commissioning time

• Keypad and operators mounted on enclosure door are pre-programmed by the factory to save time and money when commissioning.
• All enclosures have either pre-punched conduit knockouts or top and bottom removable conduit plates to save time and prevent metal fillings inside enclosure during installation.
• All control wires are factory terminated to a terminal block for centralized customer interface.
• Door mounted display center option provides a three color matrix screen of 4 lines 20 characters each for clear messaging.
• Circuit breaker disconnect provides 65k or 100k AIC rating without the need for fuses.
