Altivar® FLEX58 Open Chassis AC Drive Controller

The Altivar FLEX58 open chassis AC drive controller provides OEMs, panel builders, integrators and end-users a unique method of reducing heat dissipation inside a NEMA Type 1, 12 or 3R enclosure. By mounting the heatsink outside the enclosure, FLEX58 drive controllers reduce heat dissipation by 80% inside the enclosure. Lower temperatures are maintained, resulting in increased product reliability and longevity. In addition, a unique heatsink fan assembly (for 10-100 HP) is mounted on a separate removable panel, eliminating the need to remove the entire AC drive from the enclosure for maintenance purposes.

Available Ratings

  • 1 - 100 HP variable torque (75 HP constant torque) 460 VAC, three-phase input
  • 1 - 50 HP variable torque (40 HP constant torque) 208/230 VAC, three-phase input

FLEX58 open chassis AC drive controllers incorporate the same control and power technology, such as sensorless flux vector technology, and drive options as the Altivar 58 TRX panel AC drive. For more information about Altivar 58 AC drive options, click here.

Specifications:

Altivar FLEX58 open chassis AC drive controllers are rated for 460 VAC 60 Hz and 208/230 VAC 60 Hz operation only. The FLEX58 is designed for North American applications only.

Four horsepower range options exist for the Altivar FLEX58:

  • 1 - 7.5 HP @ 460 VAC, variable torque
    Does not require a heatsink fan assembly
  • 10 - 25 HP @460 VAC, variable torque
    Requires a heatsink fan assembly mounted on the bottom of the FLEX58 power converter
  • 30 - 50 HP @ 460 VAC, variable torque
    Requires a heatsink fan assembly mounted below the drive converter
  • 60 - 100 HP @ 460 VAC, variable torque
    Requires a heatsink fan assembly mounted below the power converter
