Capitalizing on the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act

Great news if you provide energy efficient solutions! The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act passed by Congress and signed by President Bush does more than infuse $700 billion into the U.S. economy. It extends the energy efficient commercial building tax deduction through December 31, 2013. 

This change provides additional incentives for owners of commercial buildings and designers of government owned buildings to invest in energy efficient solutions. Tax rebates up to $1.80 per square foot of building floor area are available for buildings achieving 50% energy savings over current ASHRAE standards.  Specifically, these energy savings must be accomplished through energy and power cost reductions for the building's heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water, and interior lighting systems.

The Square D E-Flex enclosed AC drive controller is an efficient and economical enclosed solution for commercial and industrial HVAC, pump and fan applications. It increases system energy efficiency by controlling the motor speed of HVAC equipment based on the actual needs of the building environment (lower motor speed = lower energy costs). Featuring the Altivar 61 AC drive, a circuit breaker and an optional bypass contactor in a single box, it meets application requirements for both ground and rooftop installations.
